Can I Still Spend This CARE Cash?
Summer is a young mom client we hadn’t seen in a while. She dropped out of our parenting classes about two years ago, so we were surprised—and glad—to see her when she stopped in the other day. She asked if she could pick up the classes where she left off, saying she had grown a lot in recent years and that she’d be committed to attending our classes faithfully this time.
Summer then opened her backpack and pulled out $30 worth of CARE Cash, leftover from her last visit more than 24 months ago. “Would it be ok if I shopped for my daughter in your baby boutique while I’m here?” she asked.
Of course it’s ok!
I was surprised she had held on to that CARE Cash for two whole years, but our director later told me that’s pretty common—and that sometimes, clients even come in with CARE Cash they earned back when we were still called Susquehanna Valley Pregnancy Services. That’s more than five years ago, now. They’ll ask if that old CARE Cash is still valid in our baby boutiques… and we tell them YES and welcome them into the little baby supply emporium so they can shop. They put forth the effort to earn them, and those dollars never expire.
Thank You, Lord, for our CARE Cash program! For all the unspent brightly colored CARE Cash dollars still out there… please allow them to be found and spent. Our clients’ infants and toddlers have needs, and You’ve provided us with infant and toddler supplies for them. Every time we see a former client, it’s an opportunity for us to encourage and love them in Your name. Please use us and our CARE Cash to point people to Jesus for life!
