As You Go, Proclaim This Message
Hector and his girlfriend have been coming to our center weekly for parenting classes. When his girlfriend had their baby, she stopped attending—but Hector wanted to continue.
He enrolled in our Life Skills class and began paying even more attention to the spiritual application part at the end of each lesson. He asked our male volunteer advocate in-depth questions about the Bible, and they ended up spending more time talking about scripture than they did about the life skills lesson!
Not only have these classes been helpful to Hector—they’ve been life giving to our male advocate volunteer, who later said, “I spent the last 40 minutes answering Hector’s questions about the Bible! I’m grateful for all the knowledge God has given me about scripture these past 60 years, because I was able to answer his questions with solid biblical answers. And…. I’m glad for the opportunity to feed a soul that is hungry for the truth about God.”
Friends, if you or someone you know has a passion for the sacredness of life and for sharing the gospel with young parents one on one, consider volunteering as a client advocate at your local pregnancy center. It’s a wonderful setting for carrying out Jesus’ hope-filled words in Matthew 10:7, “As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’”
