Bibles for Parents and Children

Bibles for Parents and Children

Tonya and her husband were overwhelmed at the prospect of becoming parents. They worried about being able to afford a baby and whether they’d be good at parenting.

So, Tonya signed up for our prenatal education program and became an avid learner.

During the session on Eating for Two, she took notes on which foods to eat and which ones to avoid. Her advocate offered her a related thought: “It’s really important to take in spiritual food, too.” She shared verses about God’s love, His salvation through Jesus, and how Tonya could know Him personally.

After a long conversation, Tonya prayed to give her life to Jesus. She looked at our advocate and said, “I feel so peaceful now. One of the scariest parts about being a new mom was figuring out how to talk to my child about God.”

Our advocate smiled and said, “We can help you with that!” She gave Tonya a personal Bible and a storybook Bible for the coming baby, and they continued talking about Jesus during each session. A few weeks later, Tonya shared, “My husband and I really like that children’s Bible you gave me. It’s helping us understand how much God loves our baby—and how much he loves us, too!”

Jesus says in John 8:31 to people who believed in Him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples.” It’s an honor to disciple young parents like Tonya and her husband and equip them with Bibles for themselves and storybook Bibles for their children. We have all been created for Him!
