Bringing His Work (in Fathers) to Completion
Tim’s girlfriend was pregnant. He knew she was going to a place called Align Pregnancy Services for help, but he didn’t really understand what we did for her. Then, his girlfriend began talking about all the helpful things she was learning through our prenatal classes. He decided to attend classes with her. They successfully finished our prenatal course, and they had their baby.
Nearly a year later, Tim reached out to us again. He explained that he had been struggling with anger and depression. He talked with his girlfriend and she suggested he reach out to us. He said, “I want to be a better boyfriend and father. I hope I can learn those things by taking your fatherhood classes.”
We assured him he would certainly learn those things and let him know we were so glad to connect with him again.
It’s heartwarming to see Tim attend classes faithfully each week. He always asks his advocate for prayer that he would be a better father. We are praying that Tim and his girlfriend will both embrace God’s love and His gift of salvation.
Tim’s reconnection with us reminds us of Philippians 1:6, which says, “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” God has begun a good work in this young father, and it’s awesome to watch God as He brings it toward completion. His love for fathers—all fathers—is active and strong!
