A Calm Place

A Calm Place

Emma and Reese found themselves in a desperate situation after getting arrested for heavy drug use and losing custody of their daughter. The judge mandated that they take parenting classes, so they came to our pregnancy center for help.

Our client advocate welcomed them into the class but wondered if they would be comfortable with the fact that we are a Christian ministry since they both stated that they held pagan beliefs.

Despite their religious opposition, the couple regularly attended class but took a break when Emma did a stint in rehab for addiction recovery.  Finally, Emma and Reese returned to their parenting class and were eager to learn. They successfully completed their course, which earned them the certificate they needed and requested to continue with their lessons.

Emma shared that a case worker was encouraging them to go to a secular agency for their education, but they refused. She explained, “We love it here, and we’re learning so much. We’re in a good routine and we don’t want to go anywhere else.”

Second Corinthians 3:17 states, “…where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”

If you are curious about what it feels like to go into a pregnancy resource center, we warmly invite you to join us for an open house on Friday, March 27for the grand opening of our new Align Pregnancy Services building in downtown Ephrata! Renovations are complete, and we are thrilled to be serving the community with free Christ-centered, life-affirming services — now including free on-site ultrasounds. We hope to see you there!
