God Drew Her Back Through Her Baby

God Drew Her Back Through Her Baby

Rosie came to us a few years ago for help. She was single, six months pregnant, and looking to get an abortion. When she realized she was too far along to take the abortion pill, she reluctantly decided to carry her baby to term and took several parenting classes with us. She drifted away, though, despite our best efforts to keep in touch with her.

Fast forward to a few months ago. Our client advocate was going over old files and decided to reach out to Rosie again, just to say hello and see how she was doing. Rosie called back right away and stopped in shortly thereafter with her beautiful 2-year-old daughter! It turns out she had been doing pretty well until recently, when her rent went up and some other bills increased, so she had to pick up extra hours at work to make ends meet. We gave her a gift card for groceries and a week’s worth of diapers.

Rosie thanked us and said, “I want you to know that having my daughter—the one I thought I wanted to abort—has brought me back to faith in the Lord.” She and her daughter are also attending church regularly. Isn’t that beautiful?

A baby is a colossal blessing to any mother. And as if that were not enough, we often see God work through babies to draw their parents closer to Him. It helps me see Jeremiah 29:11 in a new light for the new moms and babies, together: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Thank you, friends, for esteeming pregnant women and the precious babies they carry. God is at His holy work.
