Sanctity of Human Life Sunday 2026: God of Redemption
A little boy built a sailboat. He took it to a nearby stream to let it float, but the current quickly led the boat out of his reach, and eventually the boat was lost.
A few weeks later, the boy saw his boat in a store window downtown. He went inside and told the shop owner that the boat in the window was his and he asked for it back. The shop owner, however, had bought the boat from someone else and refused to relinquish it.
“If you want the boat,” he told the little boy “You have to buy it.”
The boy left. He worked hard for many days. When he had earned enough money, he went back to the shop and bought the boat.
As he left, he held the boat close and said, “You’re twice mine, little boat. First because I made you, and now because I bought you.”
This story offers a tender picture of God’s redeeming love for each one of us.
“He sent redemption to His people…” Psalm 111:9a
Our God is the God of Redemption
Biblically, redemption is about God reclaiming what has been lost—the people He created—through the costly gift of His Son Jesus. Through this priceless gift extended to us, God buys back all who believe in Jesus from their bondage to sin and death and brings them into His kingdom of life.
God’s redemption is on display at Align, and His redemption is our theme for this Sanctity of Human Life Sunday season.
God is redeeming the lives of our clients—helping them embrace His gift of life instead of the bondage of abortion and equipping them for His noble calling of parenthood.
He is also redeeming places—providing ample space to perform ultrasounds in Ephrata and transforming a dark strip club into a wholesome, spacious place for our new Columbia center.
This January 18, many Christians across our nation will commemorate Sanctity of Human Life Sunday in their churches and homes. We are delighted to offer free resources to help them see afresh the value God places on human life and to fill them with hope through stories of God earnestly pursuing people and powerfully transforming lives and places.
