Soaking Environment
Recently, one of our directors asked her client advocate volunteers to be prepared to lead a time of worship, scripture, and prayer at the beginning of their shifts.
A few weeks later, one of the advocates shared a beautiful devotional on motherhood and it generated lots of good interaction.
Feeling encouraged, that advocate said, “I’m going to share this with my two clients tonight! They’re scheduled for a parenting video, but this will lay a great foundation for it.”
Her clients were both believers, and they loved the devotional! They had lots of comments and questions, looked up scriptures together, and spent the entire session learning about God’s wisdom for mothers. Afterwards, the advocate said, “It doesn’t get any better than gathering around God’s Word. Those girls were so engaged!”
I think of those moms… after they got home and put their children to bed… and I wonder if they pondered further the truth of what they learned.
Psalm 63:6-8 is a beautiful scripture passage for the season of motherhood. It says, “On my bed I remember You; I think of You through the watches of the night. Because You are my help, I sing in the shadow of Your wings. I cling to You; Your right hand upholds me.”
We’re thankful to be able to provide an environment where young moms can soak in God’s love and truth. The benefits are precious and priceless!
