Yesterday, Today, and Forever: A Fundraiser to Remember

Yesterday, Today, and Forever: A Fundraiser to Remember

Align Life Ministries held their annual fundraising banquet at the Lancaster County Convention Center. More than 450 attendees enjoyed food, fellowship, worship, and spiritual encouragement from keynote speakers Ryan and Bethany Bomberger with a few surprises along the way….

For starters, Executive Vice President Matt Kocher was warmly welcoming guests when suddenly the March Masters marching band blasted their horns and proceeded to circle the room playing “Happy Birthday” in honor of Align’s 40th year of ministry.

The joyous tone complimented the dinner’s theme, “Yesterday, Today, and Forever,” based on Hebrews 13:8.

After dinner, musicians from the worship team of Calvary Church led the crowd in a time of uplifting praise and worship.

Align President Lisa Hosler provided a ministry update and joyfully shared that 585 babies have been saved from abortion since the ministry began in 1985. As she spoke, 585 balloons cascaded down from the ceilinga powerful visual and happy celebration of the lives that have been spared.

“This is keeping with what God has spoken to us through the years and is at the very core of His heart… ‘I want babies to be born so they can be reborn into a relationship with Me.’” –Lisa Hosler.

Next, authors, self-described “Factivists,” and founders of The Radiance Foundation, Ryan and Bethany Bomberger delivered a dynamic message that emphasized the God-given purpose of every life. The couple shared their testimony of how Bethany faced an unplanned pregnancy and eventually met, fell in love with, and married Ryan. Ryan, an adoptee himself, adopted her daughter, named Radiance. Ryan spoke about being conceived in rape but also being adopted into a large loving family. Together, Ryan and Bethany’s talk underscored the importance of the work carried out through pregnancy centers all over the world.

Bethany declared, “Abortion destroys the chance to love and to be loved. Defeat the fear that leads to abortion with the Author of Love Himself.”

After the keynote address, the audience watched a video that featured Aisha, a client who came back into the arms of Jesus when she began taking parenting classes at Align. Aisha and her precious baby then joined Lisa on stage to thank everyone for their support.  Watch Aisha’s story here.

We are rejoicing over the fact that God has exceeded our $350,000 fundraising goal! Our current Dinner total is $413,000, which means $63,000 plus any additional Dinner amounts received will be applied to renovations of a former strip club so it can become our new larger center in Columbia. We are thankful for His mighty provision and we praise God for allowing us to redeem a place like that for His healing work!

What a beautiful night of fellowship recognizing that we are all adopted by our Heavenly Father! It truly was a family gathering!

One long-time supporter expressed, “It just felt special. It didn’t feel like a fundraiser… it felt like a celebration!”

We couldn’t agree more!

Our heartfelt thanks to our Corporate Sponsors for offsetting the cost of the event. For a list of our sponsors, please see below.

How wonderful to stand on the promise that God is the same Yesterday, Today, and Forever!
