His Life-Honoring Sight
Desiree was struggling as a first-time mom and came to us for parenting education.
At the beginning of Desiree’s first class, her client advocate oohed and aahed over Desiree’s beautiful nine-month-old little girl. But Desiree kind of shrunk back and looked away. The advocate noticed that and asked, “Is everything okay?”
Desiree looked down at the floor and said, “It’s just that it wasn’t supposed to be this way. I’m single. This baby was a mistake.”
At the end of the session, our advocate asked, “May I pray for you, Desiree?” She nodded, and so the advocate prayed, “Father, thank You for bringing Desiree to Align, and for creating her and her baby in Your image and in Your timing.” Throughout the week, the advocate continued to pray that Desiree would see her baby with God’s eyes.
Desiree returned for her next session with a much brighter countenance. She said, “I tried the things we talked about last week, and they’re working. It’s a miracle. My baby is a miracle! I’m so glad I have her.” The advocate was overjoyed to hear Desiree speak those words. They sat down together to tackle the next lesson so Desiree could receive another dose of godly parenting wisdom.
Proverbs 20:12 says, “The hearing ear and the seeing eye, the Lord has made them both.” God’s perspective is always right, and He’s the One who helps us see it. He graciously opened Desiree’s eyes to see her baby as the miracle she is… impacting the trajectory of her parenting and the childhood experience of her baby.
