God Steers the Ships
Sarah and Dylan were both nervous when Sarah found out she was pregnant. The couple was really busy, and it often seemed like they were two ships passing in the night. How could they make time for a baby? However, after seeing their precious little one bouncing around on the ultrasound screen, they resolved to learn all they could, and both signed up for parenting classes. Unfortunately, due to some scheduling conflicts, they had to take their classes at separate times.
The couple’s spiritual backgrounds were as divergent as their schedules.
Sarah shared with her Client Advocate that she was more spiritual than Dylan and that she worshipped God in her own way. Conversely, Dylan was raised in a Christian home but turned away from the faith due to being hurt by people in the church he grew up in.
However, Dylan’s Client Advocate noticed that he seemed hungry for the Word right from the beginning. He stated he was open to learning more about God, so the Client Advocate encouraged Dylan to find a church that would bring him into Christian community. At the end of his first class, he asked for church recommendations!
Dylan shared what he learned with Sarah, and the couple decided that they wanted to look for a church to attend together! Originally, they may have been going in different directions, but God is steering this young family to Himself.
Proverbs 16:9 states, “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” What a blessing it is to witness the Lord work this way in Dylan and Sarah’s lives, bringing them together for His glory.
