Patience is Loving
Sydney was facing an unexpected pregnancy. She needed support and made an appointment with us for an ultrasound. But when the day of her appointment arrived, she experienced some medical issues that caused her to reschedule. Then, a few other things happened in her life, and she rescheduled again. And then again… and again.
Finally, the hour of her ultrasound appointment came… and it went. Our hearts sank, figuring she was a “no show.” But then Sydney texted us to let us know she was running quite late and asked if we would please wait for her. We did—and she finally made it to our center.
During the ultrasound, Sydney was able to see her baby and the baby’s heartbeat. She was clearly overwhelmed with joy, said she no longer felt anxious about the pregnancy, and wanted to sign up for our prenatal education classes.
Just as God is patient with us, we want to be patient with our clients. “Love is patient,” as it says in 1 Corinthians 13:5. And that’s why, when you and I are patient with people, our patience feels like love to them.
For Sydney, the patience needed for her situation led to wonderful, God-given results—rising joy, sweet peace, and a compelling desire to learn how to be a good mother.
Is there someone in your life who needs an extra investment of your patience today? Persevere in being patient. Great, God-given dividends could be just around the corner.
