A Surprise Stretch
Lydia and her husband have two small children – one an infant and the other a toddler. They found out about our services this past spring, when they needed diapers but couldn’t find them at the stores – and we had plenty on hand.
Lydia’s husband recently moved from part-time to full-time employment, which they are very glad for. But, they currently have one car, and he needs the car to get back and forth to work. So, Lydia has been at home alone with her children much of the time. She lives too far from our center to walk there.
So, several weeks back, we offered to do parenting classes with Lydia over Zoom. We “meet” with her once a week. She has been so appreciative! She says that these classes are such a help to her – not only with her parenting skills, but also emotionally and spiritually. She said, “These classes give me someone to talk to and get help from while my husband is away.”
We started doing Zoom parenting classes because we had to – because of covid. But now, we realize that KEEPING Zoom
parenting classes as an option for clients could really help us reach clients that we might not have been able to reach before. It gives these new moms and dads an opportunity to experience the goodness of Jesus through us, even if they aren’t able to physically come to our locations.
Isaiah 54:2 says, “Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.” Who knew that the Lord would use the coronavirus and Zoom to stretch our curtains wider in this way? We would not be able to do this without the Lord moving through you, local Church – providing us with the volunteers and the funds to serve clients both in person and online. Thank you so much for championing the gospel and life. We have all been created for Christ.
