Children Whom God Has Graciously Given

Children Whom God Has Graciously Given

We love helping young moms and dads learn how to lead their children well. We also love seeing the Lord work through children to bless their precious parents. 🙂 Here’s an example—

A young couple was coming in for parenting classes. They typically brought their son along, who was in kindergarten. One night in particular, their little boy asked our client advocate questions about Jesus. That ended up opening the door for our volunteer to share a devotional about faith with this entire young family.

Another example was when a young mom named Alison was meeting with us for parenting classes. She was a believer but hadn’t been attending church regularly. She has four children. One week, shortly after she arrived, she said “I just have to tell you what God has been doing in my life!” She shared that she had been sitting at the kitchen table with her children, and her oldest daughter started asking her questions about prayer, and then asked what it meant to “have a personal relationship with Jesus.” Her other children quickly piped up, saying “Me too, momma! I want to know that, too.” “I led all four of my children in prayer that day to help them ask Jesus to be their Lord and Savior,” Allison said.

God blesses us through children. Christmas is a wonderful reminder of that. God sent His Son into the world – not as a full-grown adult, but as a baby… a child… who would grow up to seek and save the lost, which is us. Isaiah 9:6 says For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
