Taste and See – Through Prayer
Our clients, Noah and Kelly, are a young married couple who recently completed our prenatal classes, and they’re planning to start our parenting classes after their baby arrives. They were talking to our client advocate about what it’s going to be like when they bring their baby home. They mentioned that they are currently living with relatives, and the conditions are pretty crowded and can be uncomfortable at times.
Our client advocate said, “Well, let’s pray about that.” So together they asked God for help with housing. Shortly after that, Noah and Kelly were accepted into a transitional housing program! They realize it was God who opened that door for them. We’re all overjoyed for them, and delighted to see that prayer answered so quickly. What’s more, Noah and Kelly have received answers to other prayers they’ve prayed since that day. They are now asking us great questions about Jesus, and they’ve begun to seek after the Lord together as a couple.
Psalm 34:8 says, “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!” When we pray together with our clients and help them lay their requests before the Lord, it encourages them to do exactly that – to interact with God themselves and realize how wonderful He is. You can consider doing the same thing for the people in your life: offer to pray with them, and for them. Give them the opportunity to “taste and see” God’s goodness and how He can transform their lives. We have all been created for Him.
