The Generational Impact of Abortion
At Align, we’ve been thinking about “generational impacts.” So, I have a little challenge for you today: Think of a relative who’s been really special to you, and then think of the impact they’ve had on your life. For our President, Lisa Hosler, her special relative was her Grandpa Stetter. He came into a relationship with Jesus as a young teenager, and before long he led his entire family to the Lord! Her Grandpa went on to marry her Grandma, they had Lisa’s dad, who married Lisa’s mom, and together they had Lisa.
So, imagine if Grandpa Stetter hadn’t been born, or was aborted. He wouldn’t have led his family to the Lord, Lisa’s dad wouldn’t have been born, Lisa wouldn’t be here, and neither would her sisters, her cousins, their children and dozens of grandchildren! If Lisa hadn’t been born, Align would likely look and operate much differently today.
Think of your own special relative. What if they had been aborted? Who wouldn’t have been born? How many children and grandchildren wouldn’t be here? Maybe YOU wouldn’t be here. What God-given purposes for ALL of your lives wouldn’t have been accomplished?
That’s the sobering reality of how abortion cuts off a life that could’ve followed God’s design for generations to come. The good news is, though, that God WANTS people to be born physically – see Genesis 1:28—and reborn spiritually—see Mark 16:15. He wants every life to be born, and He desires that generations of people come to know Him. Let’s proclaim the gospel and champion life together – with our past and future generations in mind.
