Thanks Be to God, Who Gives Us the Victory

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, it seems fitting to tell you something we are REALLY thankful for: One of our young dad clients recently invited Jesus to be Lord of his life!

We met this young dad when he signed up for our Fatherhood course.  He was holding down multiple jobs to provide for his family and often brought his infant son with him to class, changing diapers and giving bottles as he watched the lessons.

Our volunteers consistently prayed with him and encouraged him. Even so, at one point, he came real close to quitting class because he was so busy and so tired.  But he did not quit, Instead, he said, “On my way here, I talked out loud to the Lord and asked Him for help!” He then talked with his advocate about what it means to be a Christ-follower—and this young dad accepted Jesus as Lord! We are so THANKFUL:

  • THANKFUL for this young dad’s new walk with Jesus.
  • THANKFUL for how his salvation might impact his adult family members. Many of them are not Christians.
  • And we are THANKFUL for the blessings in store for his children! They now have a dad who has decided to follow Christ.

This young man’s story reminds me of 1 Corinthians 15:57, which says, “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”  In this story, God gave the dad victory over unbelief, and he gave us victory in seeing a young man embrace the truth about Jesus for life.

On behalf of your pregnancy center ministry friends across this listening area, Happy Thanksgiving to you. Thanks be to God who gives YOU the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!
