Redemption Story: A Fundraising Dinner to Remember
Align Life Ministries held its annual Fundraising Dinner at Hershey Lodge. More than 1,100 guests traveled to “the sweetest place on earth” to enjoy food, fellowship, worship, and a powerful message from keynote speaker, Ken Ham.
Align President, Matt Kocher, warmly welcomed everyone to the event that celebrated the exciting work that God is doing through the ministry.
God’s peace and presence permeated the room as musicians from Calvary Church led the crowd in an uplifting time of praise and worship.
Align CEO, Lisa Hosler provided ministry updates that underscored how the ministry’s work is expanding. She shared examples of God’s goodness, stating that over 800 clients have taken Align’s free parenting classes, the number of ultrasounds has greatly increased, and 12 babies received life whose moms initially chose abortion just in the last year!
Lisa also shared several testimonies of various clients. Each story revealed a tapestry of God’s redemptive work in the lives of clients and their families.
Next, Ken Ham, Founder of Answers in Genesis and its two popular attractions, the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter, delivered a powerful message that beautifully underscored Align’s mission to proclaim the gospel and champion the sacredness of human life.
“If we’re going to deal with any issue,” He explained, “we must start with God’s word as the foundation. Did you know that abortion, euthanasia, and gender issues are all symptoms of the same problem? The problem is the wrong foundation.”
Ken added, “The solution to all of those things is the truth of God’s word and the gospel.”
After the keynote address, attendees were treated to a new video testimonial from Adrienne, a former client. The story of Adrienne’s unintended pregnancy was originally featured in a video that was shared 12 years ago. At that time, Adrienne was grateful for the help and support she received from Align, but she had no idea how God would continue to bless her. The video shown at this year’s Fundraising Dinner featured Adrienne watching her testimony on camera for the first time in over a decade. In this new video, she reflects on God’s goodness and His provision since that moment, what it feels like to be accepted, and how she is living a full and joyful life as a wife and mother of two children. After the debut of the new video of her story, many people reached for tissues as Adrienne and her precious family, including her beautiful daughter, took to the stage and received a prayer from Lisa.
Throughout the evening, guests connected over how they were familiar with Align, many having known the organization since it was first called Susquehanna Valley Pregnancy Services.
One supporter remarked, “We have been supporting Align from the beginning and are amazed at how much it has grown!”
Align is rejoicing over the fact that God has exceeded the nonprofit organization’s $350,000 fundraising goal, and they’re excited to share that the preliminary total is $484,851.60!
What a blessing it is to experience God’s awesome provision as he allows us all to continue to take part in amazing redemption stories!
