Spiritual Steps Forward
A big part of our mission at Align is proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ to the many young moms and dads we serve at our pregnancy centers.
Our staff and volunteer client advocates are not only trained to share the gospel with our clients… they love talking about Jesus! And we love hearing what happens.
For example—“Tasha” in our parenting education classes is a believer, but recently told us she doesn’t have a Bible. Our volunteer advocate offered to give her one and even marked a few scriptures for her to read. The next week, Tasha said, “I read those scriptures you highlighted for me. How do I go about reading the Bible on my own?” Our client advocate gave her a few suggestions, and now Tasha is reading her Bible daily and talking with our volunteer about the scriptures she’s reading after each week’s parenting lesson.
Another young mom, “Ellie”, who came for a pregnancy test–was touched by the spiritual care she received in her very first visit. With Ellie’s permission, our director prayed for her after the intake, and then our Nurse manager prayed for her after her discharge paperwork was done. As she was walking out the door Ellie said, “You know, I’ve been trying to get back to God…” We assured her Jesus would love for her to come back to Him, and we look forward to ministering to her in the future.
Psalm 65:4 says, “Blessed is the one you choose and bring near, to dwell in your courts!” We love watching God gently bring these beautiful young mothers near to Him—through His word and through prayer—to bless them and to be in community with them in His glorious kingdom here on earth!
