Coming Home
Travis grew up going to church and continued attending when he moved out of state for a season. However, over time his faith waned and he stopped worshiping altogether.
Eventually, Travis moved back to the area and started dating Claire.
The couple was happy but nervous when they found out Claire was pregnant. Claire had just accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior but didn’t have much support. She came to our center, hoping for encouragement and to grow spiritually.
Travis accompanied Claire to her ultrasound appointment, and they were both visibly relieved and emotional when they saw the baby’s heartbeat beeping on the screen.
After the appointment, Claire asked for a list of churches. The director then asked Travis about his spiritual beliefs, and he shared that he felt bad for wandering away from the Lord. He wanted to return to Jesus.
The director assured him that nothing surprises God and that God knows every mistake we have made or we will ever make but He still loves us completely. Travis’ eyes filled with tears as the director continued to share the gospel, emphasizing God’s constant and unchanging love.
He listened as she read John 3:16:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
After hearing the verse, Travis prayed and rededicated his life to Jesus. He was so thankful that his new family would be starting out on the right foot and that he had finally come home!
