Serving a Brother

When Adrian was an infant, his mother first came to our center looking for the special formula he needed since she couldn’t find it in stores. Thankfully, that type of formula was available in our Baby Boutique, so she took parenting classes and was able to get it on a regular basis.

A few years later, Adrian’s mom returned to the center for a pregnancy test and scheduled an ultrasound. She brought Adrian, who is now a healthy and curious preschooler, with her to the appointment and allowed him to be present during the scan.

As our nurse manager took measurements of the baby, Adrian held a small fetal model display in his hands and began to sound out letters into words and read the numbers on the corresponding sign. When the nurse manager announced that the baby was 8 weeks along, Adrian held up a bean-sized fetal model and exclaimed, “Mom, this is how big it is!”

We love caring for pregnant moms and their babies, and often we get the added blessing of ministering to their siblings, too. God had allowed us to provide physical nourishment to Adrian when he was a baby, and God continues to minister to his mind and soul. However, in our humanness we might overlook the extra family members that come along to appointments, but God sees them and cares for each of them deeply!

Psalm 32:8 says, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
