The other day I was taking a walk and passed a young mother pushing a stroller. Her little tot was sprawled out enjoying the warmth of the sunshine, with one leg resting on the juice tray.

This precious moment reminded me of the clients we serve.  For many of them, walking is a primary means of transportation, and they often walk to their appointments with children in tow.

Anna was one such client. Already struggling as a single mother, she walked to the center looking for material assistance after becoming pregnant again. Anna had become a Christian right before she signed up for prenatal classes and was delighted to receive prayer and discipleship from her client advocate in addition to education. Her faith began to grow along with her preborn baby.

At the end of her classes, Anna was excited to receive her course-completion gift—a brand new baby stroller just in time for the birth of her second child!

A year later she returned to donate baby supplies. Anna explained that she was about to move to another state but wanted to express her gratitude for everything she had received at the center. She embraced her client advocate and told her how much she loved her and appreciated her support.

James 1:17 says, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.”

We give to others because God has given us so much. Like that young child enjoying a ride in a stroller, let’s rejoice in the warmth of His sunshine!
