A Fountain of Life to Fathers

A Fountain of Life to Fathers

Ivan and his girlfriend were struggling. They didn’t have a place to live. They didn’t have steady income, either, unsure from one day to the next how they would eat.

Then, they discovered Ivan’s girlfriend was pregnant. And that’s what brought them to Align.

They began prenatal classes with our client advocate and slowly set goals for themselves, working hard to get ready for the arrival of their baby. We prayed with them week after week. Fast forward seven months….

Their baby was born – sturdy and healthy. They saw God answer their prayers for jobs (they are both working), for a home (they have a small but safe place to live), and for provision.

“We got involved with a church! We go on Sundays and even are involved during the week,” they shared. And it made us smile when they invited our Align staff to attend their church’s chicken barbeque.

Ivan and his girlfriend want to raise their child to know Jesus and His word and to have the safety, security, and joy of being surrounded and loved by fellow believers.

Proverbs 16:22 says, “Good sense is a fountain of life to him who has it….” Ivan gleaned good sense from our parenting classes, and it was a “fountain of life,” of sorts, to him.

We encounter many new young dads who are hungry for good sense, especially in searching for how to be effective fathers. And isn’t it interesting that God describes good sense as being like a fountain of LIFE? Not a fountain of prosperity or a fountain of joy, but something bigger and better and more eternal: a fountain of LIFE.

This Father’s Day, consider taking time to encourage the young dads around you. Let them know about our free fatherhood classes if you think they’d benefit from them. Steer them toward growing in good sense as dads, that they might discover what a fountain of LIFE it can be by God’s good example and design.
