A Friend for the Journey
Jadyn was in her first trimester of pregnancy. She came in for an ultrasound and brought her friend Kate – who is also pregnant – for moral support. The ultrasound scan went well, and both young women saw Jadyn’s tiny baby on the screen. The baby even did a little wiggle for them! At the end of the scan, Jadyn affirmed that she was going to carry her baby to term. She also expressed interest in our prenatal classes. “I think I’m going to sign up,” she said. “And maybe I can get my friend, here, to come along, too” she said – nodding towards Kate.
Jadyn and Kate must have talked about it shortly thereafter, because our director soon got a phone call back from Jadyn letting her know they had both decided to join our classes! They are excited about having children who will be approximately the same ages.
It’s so neat to see glimpses of the Lord’s sovereign grace in action. Kate came along with Jadyn to the ultrasound for Jadyn’s benefit. She probably didn’t realize there would be additional blessings in it for herself and her little one. Through our classes, Kate and Jadyn will each receive helpful tips on topics like Eating for Two, Bonding with (Their) Preborn Babies, and Understanding (Their) Babies’ Cry. They will earn CARE Cash, which they can spend while shopping in our Baby Boutiques on necessities like diapers, wipes, and baby clothes. Maybe they’ll be able to shop together in the Baby Boutique and talk about what they learned outside of class.
The Lord worked multiple blessings through this one ultrasound. We are thankful He brought us Kate as a precious new client, and that Kate and Jadyn can journey as friends through their pregnancies together in our care. He mercifully reminds us in many ways – like this one – that we have all been Created for Him.
