A John 10:10 Decision
Jesus says in John 10:10, “The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. But I have come that you may have life, and have it more abundantly.” We have been thinking about this verse a lot at Align over the past few years and in recent weeks! We’ve been sharing it with people outside of Align – – telling them that Jesus came to earth as a human being so that they might have LIFE in Him.
In God’s providence, on June 24, 2022, at 10:10 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, the time zone in which the Federal branches of our nation’s government operate – – the Supreme Court announced the Dobbs decision that overturned Roe v. Wade.
We find that to be way more than a coincidence. Jesus’ heart for people and life – the physical life of preborn children and the spiritual life of young moms and dads and of people who have experienced abortion – is FRONT and CENTER in that decision.
It’s so important to remember that abortion is not primarily a political issue. It is a spiritual issue. And the remedy for it is the gospel of Jesus Christ. Friends, there is a tremendous opportunity at this point in our nation’s history for us to show people the LARGER love, the ABUNDANT generosity, the PURE truth of Jesus Christ.
