A Life Mended
“I do not need post-abortion healing!” That’s what our client used to say to herself, over and over, for decades. It wasn’t until she crossed paths with someone who knew about her abortion, and said to her “Hey – are you SURE you’re ok?” That friend encouraged her to check out our post-abortion ministry. The client decided to do the Surrendering the Secret Bible study with us, one-on-one. When it was over, she realized Jesus had radically changed her life through that study.
She began to take seriously the freedom and forgiveness Jesus had been extending to her all along. He already paid the penalty for her sins. She was also finally able to grieve the loss of her baby, something she didn’t let herself do before.
She found that times of worship were more meaningful. Her relationships with family members were growing closer. She was even able to help a friend who also had an abortion in the past. She credits Jesus for lovingly, tenderly guiding her through this journey.
Jesus does things like that. Psalm 147:3 says, “He heals the brokenhearted…” That Hebrew word for “heals” comes from a word that means “to mend by stitching”. Think of Jesus mending our broken hearts by stitching them carefully back together. That’s what He did for our client. And that’s what He can do for you and me.
