Born to be Reborn
Did you ever stop to think about the fact that God loved you BEFORE the foundation of the world? You’re probably familiar with those first chapters in Genesis that describe God’s creation of the world. But did you ever ponder Ephesians 1:4 – “Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.” Stretch your mind back – before creation – back into eternity past. Let it sink into your heart that God was thinking about you way back then! He decided when you’d be born physically, and then His fervent desire was for you to be reborn spiritually—meaning, to believe in Jesus for the forgiveness of your sins —so you could be in a relationship of love with Him now and forever. In other words, you were born to be reborn.
That’s true for our clients, too. It’s why our mission is twofold – it is to proclaim the gospel and champion life. God has taught us to recognize that our clients’ greatest need is not to choose life for their baby. Our clients’ greatest need is to be in a loving, saving relationship with Jesus Christ.
We recently served a pregnant client who was strongly considering abortion. She felt troubled; said she hadn’t been connected to God at all. We spoke truth to her through our services, and she soon began to acknowledge a link between walking with God and experiencing His blessings in her life. She chose to parent her child… and was blessed by a local church who threw her a baby shower and took up a love offering to help her with living expenses… AND she was recently baptized! She is enjoying the new physical life of her baby, and new spiritual life herself.
