Embrace God’s Heart for Life – Part 2
Sanctity of Human Life Sunday is tomorrow. And a great way to celebrate it is to remind ourselves of what is unshakably true: God’s heart for people is life. To that end, our theme for this special season is this: Embrace God’s Heart for Life.
A quick look at the beginning, middle and end of Scripture highlights God’s plan for people: In the beginning, God, from Genesis 1:1; For God so loved the world, from John 3:16, and Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man, from Revelation 21:3. These verses remind us that GOD gives life to human beings. He loves all mankind, those who have been born, and those who have yet to be born. And He has said that His dwelling place will be with man forever.
Does His plan apply to you? YES. He made you. He loves you. He intends for His dwelling place to be with you. Does this plan apply to us, even if we’ve had an abortion? YES. Consider our client Lena. Lena’s abortion was several years ago and she felt fine. But she joined our post-abortion Bible study anyway, at the urging of a friend. Now she says, “That Bible study – it radically changed my life.” In the beginning of her healing was God and His word. Knowing He loves her and sent His Son to pay the price for her abortion meant Lena could embrace freedom and forgiveness through Jesus. Knowing that God longs to dwell with her forever, Lena has found worship to be so much more meaningful. She’s drawn closer to her family members, and she’s also been able to help another post-abortive friend.
