Encourage A Young Dad with Truth Today
Some people think of us as a ministry to women only, and they don’t realize we also minister to men… to the young boyfriends and fathers of the babies. These new dads often wonder if they have what it takes to be a good father, and if they are “good enough” to have a relationship with Jesus.
Isaac, one of our young dad clients, was having trouble with anger and addiction issues. Isaac goes to a local church but hasn’t really plugged in yet. He recently told our male volunteer, “I asked Jesus to forgive my sins, but I’m not sure that happened.” We assured Isaac that if he asked, Jesus HAD forgiven him, but he said, “No, my sins are too bad to be forgiven.”
To counteract that lie with what’s actually true, our male volunteer gently redirected Isaac’s thoughts to 1 John 1:9: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Their spiritual conversations have continued, and Isaac is growing in his faith.
Alignment with God and His truth is the basis of all our service to young moms and young dads. We want young dads to know they’re created by God and regardless of what they’ve done, they are designed for a life-changing, fulfilling relationship with Jesus that reflects His goodness and glory.
Is there a young dad in your life who could use encouragement from God’s word today? Join us in counteracting lies that can be so easy for young dads to believe with life-shaping truth from the word of God.
