Olivia came to us for a pregnancy test and she was glad for its positive results. She began chatting with our volunteer about how she looks forward to raising this baby in the same way she’s raising her other small children at home. As Olivia described her parenting style, it seemed wholesome and very sound, and our volunteer said, “Wow! That’s amazing! You are doing such a good job at parenting!”
To which Olivia quickly replied, “Well, everything I’ve learned about parenting was because of coming here for classes years ago when I was pregnant with my oldest son. Your help changed my life.”
Isaiah 40:11 says, “…He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart; He gently leads those that have young.” Olivia is such an encouragement to us because in her we see the Lord gently leading a young mom, using as His tool the parenting education we offered.
God is the One who strengthens families. If you have young ones at home that you are leading, consider keeping Isaiah 40 verse 11 in mind. God loves you and your family, and He desires to gently lead you in the way you should go, using the myriad of tools which He has at His disposal. We have all been created for Him.
