What I Would Say To Them

What I Would Say To Them

Hi! My name is Kendra, and today I’d like to tell you a little about my experience with Align Life Ministries, formerly SVPS, in case you or someone you know finds themselves facing an unintended pregnancy situation.

I am a happily married woman, but I did not intend to get pregnant. How were we to afford a baby on one income plus disability? What do I do when the baby cries? Questions like these flooded my mind, and honestly, my first trimester was the most depressed I have ever felt in my life. I was overwhelmed and unsettled when I came to the pregnancy center. But, walking through that door was one of the best choices I have EVER made!

*If I could say anything to someone facing an unexpected pregnancy it would be this: You may not think you can do it BUT YOU CAN! I know it’s scary to ask for help, BUT IT’S OK! You may feel uncomfortable as a “Non-Christian” coming to a place like this and having people pray for you. That’s normal! But if you give it a chance, you might find there is so much opportunity to grow! Jesus changed my life during my time at the pregnancy center. I grew so much in my relationship with Him. What a gift it is that we have these services at our disposal FOR FREE! *I know diapers are expensive, but you can earn diapers there! I know formula is expensive, but SVPS will tell you about help that’s available so you can feed your baby! *And I know that babies are tiny and fragile, but if you take their classes, you will learn what you need to know!

I made true friendships with the women at the center and I still stop by in my free time just to say hello. My only regret is that I didn’t go sooner.

Galatians 6:2 says, “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” *It’s so much better to go through an unintended pregnancy with others rather than by yourself, especially when the ones you walk with want to see you thrive. We have all been Created for Christ!
