He Sees Our Sins…and Our Repentance
Olivia and our director settled into comfortable chairs in the space next door to our ultrasound room. Olivia was pregnant and a recovering meth addict. She had just had an ultrasound and was happy to see her baby on the screen.
Regarding her walk with Jesus, though, there were some things Olivia wanted to share. She said, “I feel like I fell off the track with God a long time ago because of the things I’ve done since then.”
Our director told Olivia about the woman in the bible who was caught in adultery and thrown before Jesus… and how that woman might have expected Jesus to be cold and harsh, but instead, found Him to be kind and forgiving. She said to Olivia, “When Jesus went to the cross, He forgave that woman for all the things she was feeling guilty of. He forgave you, too, Olivia, for the things you feel bad about.”
Olivia’s heart longed for more of Jesus’ love! She didn’t know how to pray on her own so she asked our director to pray so she could repeat the words. Through that method, Olivia asked the Lord to forgive her and welcomed Him back into her life.
God sees our sins. He also sees our repentance. 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Jesus is a wonderful savior!
