Heart-Shifting Truth
Our client Taylor had endured several traumatic experiences as a child and as a teenager. She came to us because she was pregnant. She was also depressed, and solemnly abortion-minded. She told us that she couldn’t see any purpose for her life, and that she wished she had never been born. Feeling the way she did, she just could not picture bringing a new life into a dark world.
Our director saw an opportunity to gently tell Taylor about Jesus; about His love for her and that He has a plan for her life. Taylor really listened. She was visibly moved at the thought of God personally caring about her. We believe the Holy Spirit was offering her the pure water of truth for her very parched soul. Before she left, Taylor scheduled an ultrasound.
When she came back for the scan, her perspective had changed. She said “It would not be fair for me to end this baby’s life, and I’m actually starting to feel excited about having a baby!” She also shared that now when she sees other families with children, a wave of love and desire for her new little one washes over her. Taylor is choosing life for her child.
Praise God for how He mercifully works in the hearts of people and helps them, based on truth, to shift their desires toward life. Jesus – who IS the truth – said in John 10:10 – “I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the full.”
We have all been created for Him.
