His Comfort
In recent weeks we’ve been contacted by two different families who experienced the loss of their precious little babies. One family went through a miscarriage – their baby was only 12-weeks-old. The other family was able to hold their baby boy for two precious hours before he was welcomed into heaven. Both families wanted to make donations to Align as a way to honor the life of their child and to help them with the healing process.
We are deeply touched by their kindness. It is bitter… their pain and grief; it is also sweet to see God stirring in them a desire to bless others and them being so willing to affirm the sacredness of life regardless of the circumstances.
There is comfort to be had and given to grieving parents. 2 Corinthians 1:3 says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction.”
God knows their pain. He endured the death of His Son Jesus on the cross. Through His powerful resurrection, God shows them that His sovereign will ultimately leads to the BEST outcome. His sovereign will is not the worst, although it at times feels excruciatingly hard to bear. May God help us cling to Him, His Word, and to one another while we wait for the day when He makes death and mourning to be no more; instead, only LIFE with Him!
