His Words Light Up Our Lives
It is an awesome thing to see God’s word transform a young mom’s life! Our client Jenna is a young pregnant mom who came to us for help. She was homeless and without a job, and she hadn’t given much thought about Jesus.
Each time Jenna came in for her prenatal class, her client advocate prayed for her: For a safe and healthy pregnancy. For a safe place to live. For a job that would meet her needs.
Jenna started seeing God answer those prayers.
Space opened up in a local shelter and Jenna at last had warm bed and clean bathroom. She found a great part time job. As she came to our prenatal classes, earned CARE Cash and shopped in our baby boutique, she learned how to manage money. And above all else, Jenna began to learn about God.
We gave Jenna a Bible, and she and her client advocate began reading the book of Mark together. Jenna found herself wanting to read the Bible during her free time. Her client advocate encouraged her to read the whole book of Mark and to write down any questions that bubbled up.
Jenna did exactly that – and showed up the following week with a list of 7 deep questions that she and her advocate talked through after her prenatal lesson. Jenna said, “I’m so happy to be learning about the Bible and I can’t wait to finish it and learn more about the ending!”
It’s just so AWESOME to watch the Lord bless Jenna personally and prepare her so well for motherhood and the arrival of her baby.
Psalm 119:30 says, “The revelation of Your words brings light and gives understanding to the inexperienced.” How KIND of God to give us His word to help us understand truth and light up our lives!
