For years, we’ve wanted to provide ultrasound at our Ephrata location but haven’t had the space.
We currently refer Ephrata clients to our other locations for ultrasounds. This works
for some but not for others—depending on our clients’ ability to find transportation.
Unfortunately, some are unable to schedule or keep their appointment.
This was the case with Hailey.
Hailey came to us abortion minded due to health issues. Her doctor recommended
abortion because he wasn’t sure she could safely continue her pregnancy. Hailey was
scared for herself, but also concerned for her baby.
When we showed Hailey a video of her baby’s stage of development, she marveled at the beating heart and tiny arms and legs. We talked through her options, shared how we could support her, and referred her to another Align location for an ultrasound. Hailey didn’t keep her appointment, and that’s the last we heard from her for a while.
Fast forward 10 months. We connected with Hailey and were thrilled to learn she didn’t have an abortion. Both mom and baby were doing well! Our director asked if she needed diapers, and Hailey said, “I can’t believe you asked that. I just ran out and was wondering how I could afford more!” Hailey came in for diapers and has been receiving parenting education and support ever since.
We praise God for protecting Hailey’s health and the life of her young child even while we were out of touch. And we praise God for His provision of an ideal building on the square of Ephrata with ample room for ultrasound services.
