Our God of Peace
A director at one of our Align Pregnancy Services locations recently met with a young Muslim woman who came in with her friend for some baby supplies.
The young mom talked openly about faith. She said she believes that Islam and Christianity are very similar. She said, “I know Christians believe Jesus is the Son of God. We believe Jesus to be a great prophet.“ After she was finished sharing her thoughts, she asked us, “Am I wrong?”
Now, our director had been praying all along for the words to use in response to this precious mom. She said, “You are right in saying Christians believe Jesus is the Son of God. We also believe He is the only way to God.” They continued to talk openly about faith for several minutes.
Before the client left, she turned and said, “You do things here in Jesus’ name, don’t you? I like that. There’s such a calmness here.” And her friend who was with her, agreed.
We know it’s the peace of Jesus she felt. 1 Corinthians 14:33 says, “For God is not a God of disorder but of peace—as in all the congregations of the Lord’s people.” And whether this young woman follows Jesus or not, God wants her to receive support and tangible help in the midst of what she may feel are impossible circumstances.
