Reassured By Truth
A teenage girl came with her mom to one of our Align Pregnancy Services locations and asked for a pregnancy test. Her test was positive. Both the girl and her mom are believers. It took them a little while to wrap their heads around the truth of what they had just learned. Yet the girl made it clear she was going to carry this baby to term.
Now it just so happened that they were leaving to go on a family vacation in a few days. They asked if she could get an ultrasound to give them peace of mind before they left. They wondered things like – was the pregnancy viable? And could they have a better idea of the due date? But the client – she was barely 5 weeks along, and so the baby was still too small to see via ultrasound.
We were, however, able to show them some fetal development videos from an app that we have on our iPad. The women saw images of a 5-week old preborn baby. They learned the baby is about the size of an orange seed at this age, and that the baby’s circulatory system is the first system to develop– including the tiny heart that God sparks into beating. Both women marveled at what God had done already in this baby’s life. It was a huge blessing to them – getting a glimpse of what was going on developmentally with the baby at that stage.
Our desire is to equip clients with truthful information. For some clients, truth helps them make a clear decision. For other clients – truth reassures them in the life-giving decision they’ve already made.
Reassurance based on truth is a wonderful gift from the Lord as we walk by faith and not by sight. If you’re currently in need of reassurance in a certain area of your life; look to the Truth in the person of Jesus. Psalm 16:8 says, “I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With Him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” We have all been created for Him.
