A Father’s Love
Kylie’s dad was familiar with our ministry and our position on life. He was worried that Kylie might choose abortion, so he called us.
He said to our secretary, “My wife and I are separated right now, and it’s been a really hard season for our family. My daughter Kylie is considering abortion. She’s willing to talk with you, and her boyfriend is too.”
In God’s providence, we had openings for a pregnancy test and an ultrasound the next day.
As the three of them walked into one of our Align Pregnancy Services locations, each face bore its own pain.
Kylie’s dad looked weary. Kylie looked numb. And her boyfriend looked away as our receptionist greeted them.
But oh how God’s Spirit ministered to each one!
When Kylie’s test showed positive, a glimmer of love crossed her face. And minutes later, when an ultrasound image revealed her 8-week-old baby bee-bopping around in the womb, she smiled broadly and said, “This is a baby – my baby. Even though things are rough for our family, I can’t have an abortion.”
Kylie’s boyfriend listened intently as Kylie shared the test results, and he watched intently as the baby’s movements were displayed on the screen. He reached for Kylie’s hand and said, “I’m with you.”
And Kylie’s dad. Well, tears of relief told his story. He put his hand on Kylie’s shoulder as she signed up for prenatal classes with our secretary, and he whispered to our director, “I’m eternally grateful for your help.”
We’re eternally grateful for God’s intervention. His love for each person who comes through our doors. His commitment to walk alongside them. He’s the One who’s saving and changing lives.
