Called. Equipped. Never Alone.
“Am I qualified enough to serve? Does my small amount of time really make a difference? My background looks so different from those who I’m helping. Can I actually relate with them?” My name is Meredith and as I’ve been interning with Align Life Ministries, I’ve found myself wrestling with these types of questions. Maybe you find yourself battling doubts or questioning your calling, too. We’re not alone.
In Exodus 3 at the burning bush, Moses asks God similar questions. In verses eleven and twelve, “…Moses said to God, ‘Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?’” God responded, saying, “’…But I will be with you.’”
Over the past couple of months, I’ve enjoyed hearing about the various backgrounds of staff here at Align. Like various pieces in a colorful patchwork quilt, each person differs in personality and talent. People’s differences are needed and blend together to create beautiful artwork. God uses our uniqueness to effectively care for people. He uses our backgrounds, desires, and capabilities for His kingdom. He doesn’t waste anything. Even during our questioning, God’s promises stand firm.
So, be encouraged! God has given you special gifts for building His kingdom. Maybe you’re interested in contributing your time and strengths with us at Align. We offer opportunities to mentor our clients, serve at community events, and assist in hands-on projects at any of our locations. You can discover more details, view our current needs, and request to be a volunteer here.
Remember, as God was with Moses, He promises to be with you, too.
