The Wonder Tears
Actress Danika McKellar, best known for having a role on the hit television show “The Wonder Years” once said, “When you do take the home pregnancy test, it doesn’t quite seem real. But when you see the baby and the heartbeat on the ultrasound, it’s so incredible.”
Her sentiment is shared by many of our clients who often express being amazed and excited when they see their preborn baby on the ultrasound screen. It happens so often that the ultrasound room could be called a place full of the wonder tears!
Recently, three different clients had separate ultrasound appointments all on the same day, and their situations were remarkably similar. Each woman was about 9 weeks pregnant and all of them brought along the father of their baby. Each dad seemed attentive and curious, and they all made positive comments and asked helpful questions. A tear ran down one father’s cheek as he witnessed his little one wiggling around for the first time.
Psalm 139:13–14 says, “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.”
All three couples expressed excitement about parenting, and each of them signed up for prenatal classes. We rejoice with them as they begin their beautiful journeys, and we pray that each person will grow in their knowledge of the Heavenly Father who created them.
