Dads and Babies

Dads and Babies

During a recent week of ultrasound appointments, we got to witness two brand new fathers already involved in their little ones’ lives and excited about being dads.

One was the boyfriend of our client. During the scan, we realized our client was too early in her pregnancy for the sonogram to determine the baby’s viability, so we scheduled them for a rescan in a couple of weeks. They were so excited about the pregnancy – they signed up for our Earn While You Learn classes that day and said how eager they were to get a better look at their baby.

And the other dad – he came to the ultrasound appointment with his brand new wife. We were able to show them a sweet 10 week old baby who really put on a show for them. They both work full time and weren’t sure if they could fit parenting classes into their schedule. Regardless, they seemed committed to work at being great parents together.

Studies have shown that fathers who are involved with their children as babies tend to remain more involved throughout their children’s lives than fathers who aren’t. Plus, their initial efforts can impact their children for generations to come! Proverbs 22:6 says, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”

We’re honored to be able to help new dads learn to be great fathers. We’re thankful for each of our male clients who diligently work their way through our Practical Fatherhood curriculum and earn CARE cash each week to provide the material things their little ones need. Happy Father’s Day to them, and to each father listening today! We have all been created for to know the Perfect Father – God.
