Draw All People
Sofia texted us this message: “I’m thinking of taking the abortion pill, but… I’m not sure about abortion. It feels like a sin to me.” She went on to share that she was in a relationship with a man who has several other young children. She said, “He wants me to abort my baby, but he loves his other children. That really hurts.”
Our director felt led to tell Sofia that God loves her and promises to never leave her, and that He wants to carry her burdens. Sofia admitted, “I’ve been wanting to go to church. I just feel so messed up right now.” Our director asked, “Would you like to hear how you can have a personal relationship with God?” Sofia nodded and soon afterward committed her life to Jesus.
Later, we provided an ultrasound for Sofia, and she made a solid decision to carry her baby to term. She said, “My mom told me she is with me 100 percent, and now that I have Jesus, I know I can do this.” We look forward to discipling Sofia as she returns for prenatal classes and prepares for motherhood.
Even before Sofia came to us, God was lovingly and patiently drawing her to Himself. He does that with all of our clients. And He does with you and I, too.
God sent His Son Jesus to be born as a baby human being, and then to grow up and draw people to Himself through His death on the cross. In John 12:32, Jesus says, “And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” In these advent weeks before Christmas, it’s good to ponder how the lifting up of Jesus from the earth draws us to Himself. The Bible says it happens… have we realized it? Felt it? How have we responded to it? And how does it change our lives, even today? Friends, we are born physically to be reborn in Jesus spiritually. All of us.
Merry Christmas from Align Life Ministries.
