Embrace God’s Heart for Life (Part 1)
Hi friends! With Sanctity of Human Life Sunday just around the corner on January 21st, we’d like to tell you a little bit about the theme God has given Align for this season. It’s simply this: “Embrace GOD’s Heart for Life.”
Did you notice my emphasis on the word God? He’s the main point. Keep that in mind, as we take a quick look at the beginning, middle and end of Scripture to remind ourselves of what is true: Genesis 1:1 says In the beginning, God. John 3:16 says For God so loved the world. And Revelation 21:3 says Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man.
Through these three verses we get a glimpse of God’s plan. He’s the one who gives life to human beings. He loves all mankind – past present and future people, and His dwelling place will be with human beings forever. Does His plan apply to you? YES. He made you. He loves you. He intends for His dwelling place to be with you.
Does this truth shape our thinking about the sacredness of human life? YES. Consider 19-year-old Anna, who came to us single, pregnant, and not sure what to do next. In accordance with the truth In the beginning, God our director told Anna God created her and He created the baby in her womb. Because God so loved the world, our director told Anna that God loves her and her baby. Because Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man, our director asked Anna, “Would you like to have a relationship with God through Jesus?” Anna said “Yes! I’ve been wanting to!” Anna committed her life to Jesus that day and chose life for her baby.
In this fresh new year, let’s help each other do what’s right and true – let’s embrace God’s heart for life.
