Father to Father
Typically, the shoppers in our Baby Boutiques are young moms. But recently, our director was privy to a conversation between two young dads! These new fathers talked while they shopped, and we wish you could have heard it.
The one dad said, “My little boy can hold up his head now.” The other dad replied, “Dude, that’s awesome! I’m gonna need to go up a size in outfits for my big guy. He’s growing so fast!” “Mine too. And did I tell you my little buddy has been feeling pretty good on the Similac Sensitive formula we got?” Back and forth they went, proud dads sharing stories about their babies.
Our director said afterwards, “You should’ve seen them! They knew what size diapers their babies wore, what kind of formula they drank–everything! They didn’t need to text their wives; these men knew!”
She went on to say, “They are taking our BrightCourse parenting classes and retaining the information so well. And I loved that they found a bit of community with each other in our Baby Boutique.”
God is so generous in passing along His heart of wisdom and love to the young fathers and mothers we serve. It reminds us of Matthew 7:9-11, where Jesus says, “…which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!”
