He Lights Up Her Life
Hi friends – I have a story for you today that bubbles over with joy. It’s about one of our young mom clients who was set on having an abortion but ultimately chose life for her baby, and has been growing spiritually by leaps and bounds ever since.
Over the course of several sessions, her advocate had explained Jesus’ design for her life. Since then, the client has moved away from negative influences and is eagerly telling her friends about her Savior. She faithfully attends our parenting classes, even though she enjoys talking about spiritual things so much that sometimes she and her advocate don’t even get to the lesson!
She likens her experience to that of Jonah. She says, “When you sink deeper and deeper down in life, you have no other place to go but to Jesus.” She’s committed to her local church and enjoys digging into God’s Word to learn who He is.
Her joy is visible; her face seems brighter.
Her story reminds me of John 8:12, where Jesus says, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” This young woman is deciding to follow Jesus daily – out of darkness and into light. That is resulting in physical life for her baby and spiritual life for her.
The same is true for you and me. Following Jesus, the true light of the world, is what leads to LIFE. Physical life, and eternal life. We have all been created for Him.
