Prayer on our Front Porch
Our director met with a female client and her boyfriend. The client explained that for years, her heart’s desire was to have a baby. However, she wasn’t able to conceive. Now, she’s pregnant. But the circumstances in her life have changed a lot, and she’s not sure she wants to carry this baby to term. Our director encouraged this couple to take some time before making a decision and offered them an ultrasound appointment for the following week. She prayed with them and asked God to help them make the best decision. In the days after that meeting, the clients decided to carry their baby to term and parent their child. (Praise Jesus!)
The week of her ultrasound, there was a minor truck accident near our center. A local pastor heard the commotion and came running over to see if things were OK at Align. He and our director got to talking, and our director mentioned that we had an abortion-vulnerable client coming for an ultrasound in a few days. We hoped nothing would deter her. The pastor prayed about that – right there on our front porch.
Well – the couple came for their ultrasound. The scan revealed a viable pregnancy. Their baby was 6 weeks old. They let us know of their plan to carry the baby, and they said the ultrasound reinforced the decision they had made for life!
That precious pastor had prayed specifically that nothing would get in our client’s way to prevent her from showing up… and nothing did. We are deeply grateful for all of our clergy friends and church congregations who pray for us and for our clients. God is answering your prayers in life-giving ways. We have all been created for Him.
