Seek First the Kingdom of God
Trinity is a young mom client who had taken a few of our parenting courses and wanted to tackle our Bible Study module next.
She showed up bright and early for her first Bible Study lesson. As we chatted, Trinity shared that both she and her husband were out of work at the moment and that their finances were very tight. She wondered if she had any leftover CARE Cash from when she took the parenting classes with us.
We looked in her file and found that she had $95 of unused CARE Cash in her account. Trinity was overjoyed! After her lesson, she went shopping in our baby boutique. She bought pull-ups and a couple of spring outfits for her daughter who had grown out of her spring clothes from last year.
Trinity said, “I feel so blessed by God that this Bible course started today! The timing amazes me!”
Trinity’s experience reminds me of Matthew 6:33, which says, “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” In a way, Trinity sought God’s kingdom by studying His word, and He “added things to her” – He added a reminder of rewards she had earned for hard work in previous classes, He added pull-ups and pretty new outfits for her daughter plus CARE Cash left over so she could shop again soon.
Seek first the kingdom of God: a powerful and steadying principle of provision for our clients and for you and me, straight from the heart of Jesus.
