Seen By God

Seen By God

A man named Miguel and his girlfriend were expecting a baby. Miguel accompanied her to her first appointment, and met with us separately to complete his intake form.  Afterwards, he said, “I’ve been feeling kind of depressed because everything is about her and the baby—which I get.. but when we go to her appointments, they don’t look at me-only her. This place is different. You seem to see me as much as you see her, and I appreciate that.”

Both Miguel and his girlfriend signed up for our prenatal classes. When they returned for their first session, he walked in with a big smile.  He said to our receptionist, “I’m excited to be a dad, but I’m a little nervous about how to bond with the baby. I can’t wait to learn more about it.”  Our receptionist later told us, “I’ve never seen anyone so excited about taking our classes. This young dad was absolutely beaming.”

That’s the power of God’s love, isn’t it? People realizing they are seen and valued by the Lord…and that opens their hearts to receive even more of His grace and love.

David captured the delight of being known by God so beautifully in Psalm 139. He writes, “O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me…. You go before me and follow me, You place your hand of blessing on my head… How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered!”

Our clients, dads included, are known and loved by our Father in heaven. And so— are— you.
